Grace Bailey is a multidisciplinary artist who received her BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Conceptually, her work varies, however underlying darkness and slight humor are commonalities.  Much of her work is explorative of topics including the human psyche, and experience; challenging viewers to explore their own relationships and interpretation processes by creating work based on her own true, real, and ever evolving life. More recently, however, Grace has begun working on a new photography project, titled The Athelte Project. The premise of the work aims to increase accessibility to the camaraderie that is made manifest in arena setting, specifically Bostons home arena, TD Garden.
As for her art practice itself, Grace works exclusively with analogue processes, using 35mm and large format 4x5 cameras. You can find many of her photographs simulataiously used alongside her creative writing in her self-published artist books including, violently seperated, 2022, About Feeling, 2022, and The Unspoken Word (digital only), 2022. Book making has revealed itself as an integral part of her practice, and see’s this as a mode by which she can effectively communicate material, intent, and form.
